CIR and NYSIIS reporting

We want to remind providers to please take the time to report immunizations administered to your patients, particularly those 18 years of age or younger, in a timely manner to the Citywide Immunization Registry (CIR) for NYC providers and the New York State Immunization Information System (NYSIIS) for Upstate providers as required by law.

The CIR and NYSIIS provide many benefits to both providers and their patients, making it easier to determine the immunization status of your  patients and ensuring that they receive their recommended vaccines on time, among other public health benefits. Click on the links above for more information on the CIR and NYSIIS, and if you have any questions that aren’t covered by these documents, please don’t hesitate to contact CHCANYS’ EP Program.

If you have any questions about NYSIIS or the CIR please contact us as epteam@chcanys.org

NYSDOH 2010 Critical Asset Survey

The 2010 Critical Asset Survey for Community Health Centers (CAS) may be found on the NYS DOH Health Commerce Portal, formerly called the HPN. For facilities that completed the CAS last year you can access the 2009 survey, update as needed and resubmit.  We estimate it will take 1 hour or less to do so. For centers that did not complete the survey in 2009, we estimate 4 to 5 hours to complete the survey. The NYS DOH has allotted 45 days to complete the survey. Please do not forget to verify and SAVE the survey so your new data will be submitted properly. If you have questions please call Bill Frost, NYS DOH at 518-408-5163 or Mary Lou Caprara, CHCANYS at 518-434-0767 x15.

ServNY – Medical Reserve Corps webinar

CHCANYS recently partnered with the New York State medical volunteer management program called ServNY and the New York City Medical Reserve Corps (MRC) to present a webinar on the licensed medical volunteer registration program through the New York State Department of Health’s ServNY website and the MRC volunteer registration website.  This training demonstrated how to access and register for the program as well as information on how the program is managed and the credentialing process for licensed medical volunteers.

Speakers Betty Duggan from NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene and Lori Liptak from NYS Department of Health explained various issues related to medical volunteer management. Dr. Stephen Platt, from William F. Ryan Community Health Center, talked about his center’s experience with using MRC volunteers during their response to the recent H1N1 pandemic.

For a recording of this webinar please contact oreboredo@chcanys.org.
