Reporting to the Director of the Center for Community Health, the Health Program Director 2 (M5) will serve as the Director of the Division of Family Health and will be responsible for directing, managing and overseeing the activities of all four bureaus and the Office of Medical Directors within the Division, consisting of approximately 150 staff; overseeing grants that support programs in the Division including the NYS Comprehensive Family Planning Program, the State efforts to reduce maternal mortality and morbidity, School Based Health Centers and Early Intervention. This position also serves as the Director of the NYS Maternal Child Health Services Block Grant (Title V) program, a federal block grant that support state’s efforts to improve maternal and child health. Duties of this position include ensuring the Division programs are administered in accordance with Federal and State rules and regulations, and Department of Health policies; ensuring that Division personnel and fiscal resources are utilized efficiently and appropriately to accomplish Division objectives; providing state and national leadership on maternal and child health policies, programs and services; providing direct and indirect supervision to all Division staff and maximize staff performance; representing the Division and the Department in meetings with public and private stakeholders, as well as Executive staff; being directly involved in managerial policy and development, administrative and managerial decisions regarding Division staff; and directing and developing policy and procedures in conjunction with and in response to state and federal laws, regulations and mandates.
