HealthySteps Implementation Request for Applications

The New York State Office of Mental Health (OMH) announces the availability of funds to support the implementation of HealthySteps. This opportunity is part of OMH's commitment to promoting an intentional focus on prevention activities by identifying and implementing evidence-based and data-informed preventive practices. HealthySteps is an evidence-based program that serves young children ages birth to three and their families within a pediatric healthcare setting, which is non-stigmatizing and offers universal access.

Key Funding Details:

  • Up to 50 awards will be distributed across the five regions as described in Section I of the RFA, with total funding of up to $24,199,950 over five years.
    • Year 1: Up to $8,066,650
    • Year 2: Up to $5,566,650
    • Year 3: Up to $5,566,650
    • Years 4 and 5: Up to $2,500,000 each
  • Each successful applicant will receive either $111,333 or $55,666 in year 1 for one (1) FTE HealthySteps Specialist Salary & Fringe. If partnering as a small site, $55,666 will be provided for each partnering site.
  • Subsequent funding per successful applicant is $111,333 each in years 2 and 3 to support the HealthySteps Specialist salary and $50,000 each in years 4 and 5. This funding will be split evenly between partnering sites sharing one (1) FTE HealthySteps Specialist.
  • Additionally, each successful applicant will receive a Program Development Grant in a separate contract to cover the costs of the HealthySteps Virtual Training and Data System, to be used within the first 18 months of the program.

  • Applications must include all required documentation as outlined in the RFA.
  • Earliest Contract Start Date: April 1, 2025
