2022 was an incredible year of advocacy for CHCANYS! A review of 2022 shows that CHCANYS has made great progress in advancing policy and regulations and expanding advocacy efforts including:
- Successfully advocating for the inclusion of a CHC capitated APM in the 1115 waiver amendment proposal;
- Secured a resolution to hold health centers harmless from rate reductions from the pandemic impact, saving net $57M across the health center network;
- Successfully maintaining funding for health homes, VAP, PCMH, Workforce recruitment and retention, migrant and seasonal farmworkers, SBHCs, DANY, and rural health access networks;
- Securing 1% ATB for FQHC Operating Expenses;
- Securing partial telehealth parity;
- Launching the Advocacy Coordinator Subcommittee to unify health center voices;
- Expanding CHCANYS’ health equity legislative portfolio;
And so much more! These wins were made possible due to the incredible advocacy by health centers to make sure that everyone in New York State can have access to high quality and affordable primary and preventive care. We, the Policy Team, look forward to our continued work with health centers to build on our successes in 2023!
