Medicare has finalized several regulatory policies that impact CHCs, including:
- Guaranteeing that Medicare will continue to pay CHCs for medical visits provided by telehealth through December 31, 2025 – even if Congress doesn’t act on this item. Payment will continue at the current fee schedule rate.
- Creating three new billable codes for Advanced Primary Care Management (APCM) with payment ranging from around $10 to $110.
- Starting next July, Medicare will reimburse FQHCs for vaccines immediately after they are administered, at the fee schedule rate. These payments will be reconciled annually with the CHC’ actual vaccine costs on their cost reports.
