Medicare released its annual proposed Fee Schedule regulation, which includes several policies that relate directly to FQHCs. Most notably, CMS has proposed to use its regulatory flexibility to ensure that FQHCs can continue to be reimbursed for medical services provided via telehealth through the end of 2025 – even if Congress doesn’t act to extend that reimbursement by law. CMS also proposes to pay FQHCs up front for some of their vaccine costs. See here for Colleen Meiman’s one-page summary of FQHC related provisions. None of these proposals has been finalized, and public comments will be due in early September.
