On October 29, 2021, the U.S. Second Circuit Court of Appeals ruled in favor of the Hochul administration's healthcare worker COVID-19 vaccine mandate, and vacated the temporary injunction that allowed for staff and volunteers to seek a religious exemption to the statewide vaccine mandate. Religious exemptions are no longer an allowable exemption for the statewide vaccine mandate.
