CHCANYS Emergency Management invites all New York federally-qualified health centers (FQHC) to register for the Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) virtual self-paced training on Conflict Prevention & De-escalation.
ABOUT THIS TRAINING :
DURING THIS TRAINING PARTICIPANTS WILL LEARN:
How to identify the stages of a person in distress;
Strategies to prevent a crisis;
Basic verbal de-escalation skills, and;
Other techniques to keep employees and your health center patients safe.
ADDITIONAL DETAILS
WHEN: Enroll before September 1; complete any time between September 1-15, 2021
WHO: Each FQHC network can register up to three (3) staff
WHERE: Virtual and self-paced, the course is 60-75 minutes long
HOW MUCH: FREE, but pre-registration required

THIS ONLINE COURSE IS INTENDED FOR:
Frontline and patient-facing FQHC staff whose jobs require face-to-face interactions with patients, visitors, and guests;
Staff who may encounter patrons who choose to not follow government or health center policies involving social distancing, mask wearing, or capacity restrictions, and;
Staff who need the confidence and skills to recognize disruptive behaviors and the understanding of who to call for assistance.
