The Long Island FQHC, Inc. (Long Island Federally Qualified Health Center or LIFQHC) is a non-profit healthcare organization with 7 health centers, providing primary care and preventative medicine in the following locations in Nassau County: Roosevelt, Elmont, Hempstead, Freeport, Oceanside, and New Cassel/Westbury. JOB TITLE: Assistant Facilities Manager
REPORTS TO: Facilities Manager
The following statements reflect the general duties, responsibilities and competencies considered necessary to perform the essential functions of the job and should not be considered as a detailed description of all the work requirements of this position.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Manage and maintain fire safety
• Perform environmental hazard management/planning
• Manage and Maintain key/door safety
• Participate in environmental rounds
• Attend NUMC Environment of Care meetings as needed
• Oversee and correspond with Security Company
• Oversee and correspond with alarm and monitoring vendors
• Participate in the evaluation and adjustment of energy expenditures
• Coordinate assistance for outreach events (set up and break down)
• Maintain vendor relationships as required
• Meet with vendors during and after hours as needed
• Participate in high level Facilities meetings as required
• Implement programs and provide leadership
• Working with Alarm vendor (as necessary)
• Ready and able to assist with day-to-day maintenance tasks including:
• Changing ceiling tiles
• Changing and servicing toilets
• Snaking toilet when clogged
• Changing/servicing sink faucets
• Changing floor tiles (when contractor is not required)
• Changing/checking smoke detectors
• Patching and painting walls when needed
• Installing medical/dental equipment
• Cleaning up during the day if there something in need of attention
• Delivering medication or supplies between locations
• Traveling between vendors and sites providing tools and materials
• Setting up offices (desks / cabinets…)
• Adjusting thermostats when needed, providing analysis of balancing and recommendations
• Changing bulbs and ballasts
• Picking up garbage in front of site(s) when needed
• Containing water leaks
• Resetting breakers panels when trips upon investigation
• Removing or relocating heavy items for practice managers and nurse managers
• Changing emergency and exit lights when necessary
• Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
Associates degree in relevant field or equivalent preferred
Bachelors degree in relevant field or equivalent bonus
5+ years of experience in facilities, maintenance, construction, pr related field
Previous experience in the healthcare industry preferred
Experience with start up operations desirable
Bilingual in English and Spanish/Creole a plus.
SALARY: $50,000-$60,000 per year
