Neighborhood Health Center (NHC) is GROWING and actively seeking Licensed Practical Nurses to join our team. The LPN will have responsibilities that include, but are not limited to, administering medications providing treatment prescribed by providers. For more than 30 years, NHC has delivered quality healthcare to the communities we serve.
Neighborhood Health Center is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC). FQHCs are required to comply with the governor's recent mandate requiring hospital and nursing home workers to get the COVID-19 vaccine. You will be required to provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination if an offer of employment is made. The vaccine mandate applies to all personnel employed or affiliated with a covered entity, including volunteers and students. Only a limited medical exemption remains for qualifying individuals.
Responsibilities:
- Performs nursing tasks and responsibilities within the framework of case finding, health teaching, health counseling and provision of supportive and restorative care under direction of a registered professional nurse or licensed physician.
- Administer medications and provide treatments prescribed by providers
- Performs immunizations and injections
- Assists in facilitating patient flow for the provider to ensure a seamless and efficient patient flow
- Maintains the care and use of supplies, equipment, etc.
- Performs all CLIA waiver tests and ensures all tests are up to date
- Demonstrates proper placement and documentation of PPD
- Complies patient information in the absence of an RN and consults with medical provider
Requirements:
- Graduated from an accredited one or two year nursing school
- Must possess a current NYS License as a Practical Nurse
- Must have current CPR certification
- Exceptional attention to detail and follow-through
- Superb organizational skills
- Strong influencing skills
- Self-starter with the ability to work proactively and take initiative
- Results-oriented; creative and persistent in accomplishing tasks
- Solutions-driven with a systems orientation
- Highly responsive, timely, accurate and thorough in follow-up and follow-through
