Health Insurance Navigators
CHCANYS Navigators are trained through the New York State of Health and have ongoing yearly trainings to stay up to date with the changes in the program and to maintain certification with NYS. Our navigators are community based and are here to help individuals who are under the age of 65, families and children. This New York State of Health program is now in its 6th year and our navigators/assistors are seasoned enrollers who have been working in the communities we serve for many years. We can help enroll clients in Medicaid, Child Health Plus, Essential Plans, and Qualified Health Plans. They have access to a language line and interpreters that speak over 40 different languages. Navigators are available to assist individuals in applying for coverage on weekdays, evenings and even on weekends. Navigators are available in convenient, community-based locations in Yates, Ontario, Erie and Wayne Counties.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and state of emergency, the NY State of Health has made it possible for Navigators to assist clients remotely, making it easy for clients who have limited transportation options or time restraints. CHCANYS Navigators can assist anyone in New York state, regardless of county of residence. Navigators are HIPPA compliant, and any information sent to Navigators that is necessary for enrollment is safely guarded and protected.
We are a referral-based agency and rely on our clients to give us referrals so we can help as many people as possible. We do not charge for our services and help clients to enroll in the best coverage for them. We work with community partners who let us help their clients get the best coverage for them. We also work closely with other agencies that can help our clients if we are not able to.
