The Adult Medicine Physician is responsible for providing excellent evidence-based primary care with dedicated multi-disciplinary team support in an urban outpatient practice. The incumbent will provide holistic care, be interested in his/her patient’s well-being, coordinate care with specialists, learn from and teach other staff at different educational levels. There will be no in-patient responsibility, rotating schedule for after-hours phone coverage, weekends required at weekend pay rate.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the medical care of a panel of adult patients
- Work closely with the care team to optimize the health of patients, provide preventive care, diagnose and treat chronic and acute illnesses
- Participate in all activities necessary to implement the multi-disciplinary team approach for the care of adult patients
- Participate in Quality Improvement and Quality Assurance activities of the Health Center and the Internal Medicine service to improve the health care of patients, including peer review, medical and regulatory education, and risk management training
- Supervise and teach nurse practitioners, nursing staff and medical students as needed
- Meet minimum productivity targets
- Maintain medical privileges and credentialing
- Obtain and maintain privileges at a local hospital
- Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited medical school and licensed to practice in New York State
- Certification or eligible for certification by the American Board of Internal Medicine, American Board of Family Medicine, American Osteopathic Board of Internal Medicine, or American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians
- Knowledge of a second language (such as Mandarin, Cantonese, Bengali, Korean, Spanish or other languages) preferred
Compensation and Benefits:
- Full-Time Base Salary: $180,000 - $220,000 per year
