Full-Time Director of Clinical Informatics

The Charles B. Wang Community Health Center (CBWCHC), a nationally recognized, award-winning Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) in New York City is seeking a new Director of Clinical Informatics (DCI). The DCI will lead the Clinical Informatics team and oversee the successful implementation and optimization of a new EMR system. This is a critical role for the FQHC, requiring strong leadership, technical expertise, and a deep understanding of clinical workflows.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the FQHC's CI team, including hiring, training, and performance evaluations
- Oversee the transition from AthenaPractice to a new EMR, ensuring smooth and efficient implementation of the new system:
- Develop and execute a transition plan, including timelines, budgets, and resources
- Work with the Health Center's staff and EMR vendors to
- Ensure smooth and accurate migration of data
- Customize the new system to meet the Health Center’s specific needs
- Develop and provide training to staff on the new EMR system
- Troubleshoot problems that arise during the transition process
- Develop and implement organization-wide policies and procedures for the use of clinical information systems
- Oversee training and education of staff in the use of clinical information systems
- Oversee and develop clinical reporting activities, including the preparation of UDS reports, clinical quality reports, dashboards, and ad-hoc reports needed by the Health Center's staff
- Ensure that the organization is compliant with all applicable regulations related to Clinical Informatics
- Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, background in medical care and Clinical Informatics is preferred
- 5+ years of experience in CI management, with experience in EMR systems, preferably AthenaOne or EPIC
- Experience in FQHC setting, including EMR customization and UDS reporting
- Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, and workstations
- Experience in project management and budget management
- Excellent leadership and communication skills
- Familiarity with federal and state regulations that apply to FQHCs
Compensation and Benefits:
- Salary: $120,000 - $175,000 per year
