Position: Healthcare IT Application Administrator
Reports to: Director, IT Projects & Enterprise Applications
Location: New York City Metro Area
Project Renewal’s Healthcare IT Application Administrator is the primary systems administrator for applications used by Healthcare staff. They ensure Healthcare applications are properly configured to meet internal needs and external requirements as well as to ensure security and privacy. The position contributes to the development of reference materials and the provision of training and support to end users. The administrator has a deep understanding of our Healthcare data and creates complex reports and dashboards from multiple sources to meet requirements and drive clinical, operational, and financial improvement.
Responsibilities include:
- Serving as the eClinicalWorks superuser and primary administrator, including:
- Managing users, including licensing, provisioning, and eRX setup;
- Managing security, including PSAC, and roles consistent with RBAC;
- Creating structured fields as well as both simple and complex templates;
- Maintaining order sets, medication groups, ICD, E&M, and LOINC codes;
- Implementing eCW upgrades, including use of the APU tool, and additional modules such as CCMR, Patient Portal, and Kiosk;
- Managing interfaces to external systems, including laboratories, immunization registries, RHIOs, and pharmacies; and
- Testing new versions of eCW in our testing environment to identify and document changes.
- Managing Doxy.me, CAREWare, Azara DRVS, eLoom, Healthix, radiology, and other Healthcare IT applications, including configuration, user and security management, and data mapping.
- Creating reports and dashboards using in-house and off-the-shelf tools that require a basic understanding of databases and relational data.
- Utilizing our change management process to ensure that stakeholders are incorporated into decision making and have advance notice of changes that will impact them.
- Conducting periodic reviews and audits (as defined by policy) of system users, permissions, licensing and logs for Healthcare applications and preparing summary reports on findings.
- Providing end-user support for Healthcare IT applications.
- Processing invoices from Healthcare IT application vendors, ensuring that costs are coded to the correct programs, contracts, grants, and other funding sources.
- Assisting with the development and delivery of training and reference materials for Healthcare IT applications.
- Coordinating with vendors for and remaining current on product developments for Healthcare IT applications.
Requirements include:
- At least 5 years of experience with eClinicalWorks, including knowledge of clinical, front desk, and basic billing workflows and features.
- At least 3 years performing administration, configuration, maintenance, and support for eClinicalWorks.
- Experience using data reporting tools such as EBO, Tableau, and Power BI to extract, combine and report on eClinicalWorks data.
- Strong knowledge of HIPAA and HITECH requirements.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, team, time management, problem-solving and independent work skills.
- Experience working in a Federally Qualified Health Center and reporting for Uniform Data System (UDS) is preferred.
