Position Summary

The Dental Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting our dental providers in delivering high-quality dental care. This position involves assisting with a variety of dental procedures, ensuring a safe and comfortable experience for our patients.

Responsibilities

• Provide chair-side assistance to dentists, hygienists, and residents during dental procedures.
• Prepare exam rooms and ensure proper sterilization of equipment.
• Assist with patient record management and charting.
• Provide oral hygiene instructions and post-operative care.
• Handle emergency dental situations as needed.
• Operate digital X-ray equipment and process dental radiographs.
• Assist with laboratory procedures, including pouring and trimming study models.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and training programs.
• Maintain a professional and compassionate demeanor towards patients.

Work Schedule: 

Dental Assistants are scheduled to work, Monday - Friday 8:15 - 5:15pm with 1-2 evening hours (11am-7pm or 12pm-8pm).

Qualifications

• Dental Assistant Diploma/License
• Current CPR certification
• Strong computer skills
• Minimum of two years of experience in an outpatient clinical setting
• Experience working with diverse populations, including LGBTQ+ individuals and people living with HIV/AIDS (preferred)
• Bilingual (Spanish/English) is a plus
